New Cogeneration Project for AbbVie

Cogeneration is an eco-friendly technology and a highly efficient form of energy conversion that achieves savings by combining electricity and heat, ideal for large buildings with strong power demand. Another advantage besides the energy savings is its use as a backup power supply during an outage.

Many industries enjoy the tremendous benefits of having a cogeneration system in their facilities and acknowledge the positive impact it has on the natural environment.  AbbVie, a global leader in the biopharmaceutical sector, decided to adopt it, which will allow them to produce a portion of the energy they use on site.

AbbVie selected CIC as the general contractor in charge of the preparation of the land where they will place the cogeneration plant. The scope of work also includes Foundations, Steel, MEP, and finishes of the area.
